Dave Young

I have been the state representative for House District 50 (east half of Greeley, Evans, and Garden City) in Weld County for the past seven years. I've served on a variety of House committees throughout that time--education, health, transportation, appropriations. For the past four years, I've been a member of the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) and chair of House Appropriations Committee. Currently, I am the Democratic nominee for State Treasurer. Before my work in the legislature, I taught math, science, and technology at Heath Junior High in Greeley from 1975 to 1999. I worked for two years as an information architect with iXL, an international Web design firm, and worked for nearly a decade as a senior instructor and adjunct faculty for the Information and Learning Technologies program at the University of Colorado, Denver.
