Saluting America's mission is “To instill a strong sense of active citizenship and patriotism in America’s students, raise awareness of our nation’s cherished values, and honor those who serve our country.” The hallmark of our program is our Tribute Card, designed for Veterans Day and featuring beautiful patriotic images by renowned visual historian Nick Del Calzo, creator of the New York Times bestseller, Medal of Honor: Portraits of Valor Beyond the Call of Duty. These cards will be sent to your school for students to write messages to active military and veterans. Cards can then be distributed at your school events and celebrations during Veterans Week. The program is specifically designed for grades 4-8 and all materials are provided free of charge to schools. Lesson plans and study units for Veterans Day are under development. The program is currently being implemented in over 50 Colorado school districts, plus a dozen private and parochial schools.
